Finom AI or BankingMCP: where should your banking AI live?
Finom AI is Finom's own assistant, built into the Finom app and connected to your Finom account over MCP. BankingMCP takes the opposite route: it brings your bank accounts, Finom included, into the assistant you already use, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Mistral or your own agent. That way you can ask about several banks at once.

The key differences
Your own assistant, not another app
BankingMCP works inside Claude, ChatGPT, Mistral, Cursor or any agent that speaks MCP. Your bank data sits next to your projects, files and other tools there. You don't have to switch to a separate chat in your banking app.
Finom and your other banks together
Connect Finom alongside Sparkasse, N26, Qonto or your personal account. Your assistant answers across all of them in one conversation, for example: "How much cash do I have across all accounts?"
Business and personal
Finom is a business account. With BankingMCP your private accounts can sit next to it, which helps with questions such as what you can pay yourself this month.

- Can I connect my Finom account to BankingMCP?
- Yes. Finom is in the bank directory that BankingMCP connects through. You sign in to Finom once, and from then on your assistant can read your Finom balances and transactions alongside your other banks.
- Does Finom offer an MCP server for Claude or ChatGPT?
- As of 21 October 2026, Finom describes MCP as the way its own assistant, Finom AI, connects to your account inside the Finom app. Finom doesn't document an MCP address that you could add to Claude, ChatGPT or your own agent. BankingMCP gives you such an address, for Finom and your other banks.
- Can I use Finom AI and BankingMCP together?
- Yes. They don't affect each other. You can use Finom AI in the Finom app to prepare invoices and payments, and BankingMCP in your assistant to ask questions across all your accounts.
- Can either one move money?
- BankingMCP can't. It is read-only and has no payment tool. According to Finom, Finom AI prepares actions such as transfers, and they run only after you confirm and authenticate in the app.
- Which one costs less?
- Finom AI is included in every Finom plan at no extra cost during the beta, so if you already pay for Finom it costs nothing more for now. BankingMCP costs €5 a month including VAT and works with Finom and any other bank in the directory.
