Connect Finom to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants via MCP
BankingMCP is an MCP server for your Finom account. Connect Finom once through the regulated PSD2 web form, then add the MCP address to your assistant. It can read balances and transactions, and nothing else. No programming needed.
Short answer
Yes, Finom works. It is in the bank directory BankingMCP connects through, via XS2A (PSD2). Your assistant gets your balance and transactions, read-only, for €5 a month after a 7-day free trial. Nothing to install.
Check Finom
Answered live from the bank directory. If your exact institution shows up here, BankingMCP can connect to it.

Is there an official Finom MCP?
Yes, since October 2026. Finom is rolling out Finom MCP across Europe: you connect your Finom account in the connector settings of Claude or ChatGPT and sign in on a Finom page. For now the access is read-only, and it is included in every Finom plan at no extra cost. Next to it there is Finom AI, Finom's own assistant inside the Finom app.
If Finom is your only bank and you work in Claude or ChatGPT, Finom MCP is the obvious route. BankingMCP is worth it when Finom sits next to other accounts, such as your personal account at a Sparkasse or N26, or when you use Mistral, Cursor or your own agent. Your assistant then answers across all your banks in one conversation.

Connect Finom over MCP in three steps
Create an account
Create a BankingMCP account and start the 7-day free trial. You add payment details at Stripe, and you pay nothing if you cancel within the trial.
Connect Finom
Choose Finom and log in through its own PSD2 web form. Your banking credentials never reach us.
Set up your assistant
Add the MCP address to Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant. It picks up the banking tools on its own, and you ask your first question.
Good to know about Finom
- Search for “Finom” in the connection form.
- If you share several accounts at Finom, your assistant sees all of them. You can add more accounts later with one click.
- Banks ask you to confirm access again after a set period. BankingMCP shows you when the Finom consent expires; after that you log in once more.

What you can ask once Finom is connected
- “How much is in our Finom business account right now?”
- “Which customer payments are still missing this month?”
- “What were our five biggest expenses last quarter?”
- “Build a 13-week cash forecast from our recurring payments.”
Assistants you can use with Finom
Each one has its own setup guide. Connect one, or all of them.
Connecting Finom through regulated bank access
- Read-only. Over MCP your assistant only gets read tools: it can list accounts, read balances and search transactions. There is no payment tool in this connection.
- You log in at Finom itself. Access runs through finAPI, a PSD2-licensed account information service, and your banking credentials never reach BankingMCP.
- BankingMCP doesn't keep your balances and transactions; it fetches them for each question your assistant asks. Only account details and an access log, kept for 90 days, are stored.
- Every assistant gets its own address. Deactivate one and its access to your Finom account stops immediately.
Questions about Finom
- Is there an official Finom MCP server for Claude or ChatGPT?
- Yes. Since October 2026 Finom has been rolling out Finom MCP across Europe. You connect it in the connector settings of Claude or ChatGPT; for now it only reads, and it is included in every Finom plan at no extra cost.
- Do I need BankingMCP if Finom has its own MCP?
- Only if you want to connect more than Finom. Finom MCP shows your assistant your Finom account. BankingMCP connects Finom together with your other banks and also works in Mistral, Cursor and your own agents.
- Can I use Finom MCP and BankingMCP together?
- Yes. Each is its own connector in your assistant, and they don't get in each other's way.
- What is MCP?
- The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude or ChatGPT use outside tools. BankingMCP makes your Finom account available as an MCP server, so your assistant looks up balances and transactions directly instead of you uploading bank statements.
- Does BankingMCP support Finom?
- Yes. Finom is listed in the bank directory with a XS2A (PSD2) interface, which is how BankingMCP connects. The live check on this page confirms your exact institution.
- Do I need to install an app to use Finom with Claude or ChatGPT?
- No. BankingMCP runs in the browser on any computer or phone. You connect Finom once, then add one address to your assistant.
- Does my assistant see my Finom balance?
- Yes, along with your transactions. Your assistant reads the balance when it asks, together with the time Finom last delivered it.
- How up to date are my Finom transactions?
- Your assistant fetches your balance and transactions with every question and gets them as Finom last delivered them, with a timestamp. If the Finom consent expires, it only sees the last state until you log in again – and tells you so.
- Can I use Finom together with other banks?
- Yes. Connect up to 50 accounts across several banks, personal and business. Your assistant answers across all of them, and the price stays at €5 a month.
- Does my assistant see my Finom login?
- No. You log in at Finom in its own web form. Neither BankingMCP nor your assistant ever receives your PIN, password or TAN.
- Do I need programming skills to use Finom with Claude or ChatGPT?
- No. You connect Finom in the browser and copy one address into your assistant's settings. Every assistant has a step-by-step guide.
- Can my assistant transfer money from my Finom account?
- No. The connection is read-only and has no payment tool. Payments are planned as a separate feature, where you approve every transfer in your own banking app.
Another account at a different bank?
Every bank runs on the same €5 monthly plan. Connect them together and your assistant answers across all your accounts at once.
