Connect Claude to your bank accounts
Claude reaches your accounts through a custom connector. Add the address once, and every new chat can answer questions about your real balances and transactions.
Before you start
- 01Create a BankingMCP account. The first 7 days are free and need no payment details.
- 02Connect your bank through its own PSD2 web form. Your banking login stays with your bank.
- 03Keep your BankingMCP sign-in to hand: Claude sends you here to approve the connection.

Setup steps
- 01Sign up for BankingMCP and connect your bank.
- 02In Claude, open Customize → Connectors, click + and choose Add custom connector.
- 03Name it BankingMCP, enter the address shown here and click Add.
- 04Click Connect, sign in with your BankingMCP email address and approve the connection.
- 05In a chat, enable BankingMCP in the tools menu and ask about your accounts.
Works on all Claude plans; the free plan allows one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds the connector under Organization settings → Connectors first.

This address is the same for everyone, so it isn't a secret. Claude asks you to sign in and you approve the connection here.
What Claude can do once it's connected
- list_accounts
- Lists your connected accounts with bank, IBAN and balance.
- get_balances
- Totals across all accounts, per currency, plus each account's balance.
- search_transactions
- Finds transactions by account, date range, merchant or purpose, income or spending and amount, with totals.
- list_transactions
- Loads all transactions page by page, optionally per account and date range, so your assistant can sort through them itself, e.g. for rent payments.
- refresh_accounts
- Fetches current data from your banks before answering.
These tools only read. Nothing can move money, and payments are not part of this connection.

Questions about Claude and BankingMCP
- Does Claude see my banking login?
- No. You log in at your bank in its own web form. BankingMCP never receives your PIN or password, and neither does Claude.
- Can Claude move money?
- No. This connection is read-only: listing accounts, balances and transactions. There is no payment tool. Payments are planned as a separate, explicitly approved step.
- What happens if I want to cut off access?
- Each assistant has its own address. Deactivate or remove the one you gave Claude and it stops working immediately, without touching your other assistants.
